Chase is an Italian musical group active in the 1990s.
The band began its activity with producer Toni Verde’s A&D Records label. The group’s members and songwriters were DJs Sandro Murru, aka Kortezman, and Emanuele Marascia.
The project’s first vocalist was Melanie Sholl, with whom they recorded the singles “Music Is My Life,” “Take My Soul,” “To the Top,” “Beggin’ for More,” and “Love for the Future.”
After Melanie left the group, the producers decided to abandon the idea of a black vocalist. Cindy Wyffels joined as vocalist, and Chase recorded “Obsession,” “Stay with Me,” “Gotta Lot of Love,” and “Wrong or Right,” all from their first album, “Barefoot.”
Subsequently, “Shadows Sail” was released, the last single recorded with Cindy Wyffels, who also appeared on two other singles, “Distance” and “Whisper & Loveliness,” from the album 4dancefloor, recorded with singers Blackwood, Gate, and DJ Hacker.
After Cindy left the group, Chase looked for a singer with a voice similar to hers, almost indistinguishable from hers. Vocalist Lilia was chosen, with whom Chase recorded their last two singles before ending their musical career: the romantic ballad “I Imagine” and “Reflections.”
