Buongiorno is the nineteenth studio album by Italian singer-songwriter Gigi D’Alessio, released on September 4, 2020.
The album contains 15 reinterpretations of D’Alessio’s own songs with various artists, as well as the previously unreleased “Vint’ anne fa,” a collaboration with rapper Lele Blade. Upon the album’s release, D’Alessio stated:
It was an extraordinary experience working with these artists, a wonderful journey that gave me the opportunity to understand their immense talent. I believe it’s the first time a project like this has brought together all the exponents of the urban scene of a city that is displaying enormous richness and expressive diversity, enhanced also by the presence of J-Ax and Boomdabash. We’ve retained the soul of the songs, with a modern facade. A bit like renovations. I call them “the iPhone guys” because their compositions come to life incredibly quickly through notes on their phones. I had the great opportunity to discover their world and open mine to them, even though despite everyone’s young age, everyone was familiar with these songs from my past. And they approached them with emotion and great respect. The result of this intermingling was surprising. It’s a great challenge, now that the Neapolitan language is finally accepted and we can express ourselves completely freely, without prejudice. And then, getting together all together creates a feeling… like a trip. An experience that enriched and entertained us mutually and that I hope to be able to bring live soon too.”
