Amami amami is a single by the Italian singing duo composed of Mina and Adriano Celentano, released on 21 October 2016.
The song, musically electro-Middle Eastern in nature, with references to Argentine tango, was composed by the Israeli artist Idan Raichel, while the lyrics were co-written by Raichel himself with the Italian singer-songwriter Riccardo Sinigallia. Rockol instead defined it as “between dance and tango”.
“Amami amami” is a reinterpretation of the song “Ma’agalim (Circles)” by Idan Raichel, released in October 2015. Furthermore, the final solo contained in the song is a deliberate homage to the song “Storia d’amore” of Celentano.
The song anticipates the second album created in collaboration by Mina and Celentano, entitled Le Migliori, released on 11 November 2016, approximately eighteen years after the previous Mina Celentano (1998).
The single was certified gold by FIMI with more than 25,000 copies sold and received more than 10 million views on the two singers’ YouTube channel of the same name in less than a month after its release.
