“Flash in the Night” is a song by the Swedish band Secret Service, first released in 1981 as the fourth track on the album Cutting Corners.
The song
Flash in the Night is a synth-pop song composed by the band’s keyboardist Tim Norell. Bjorn Häkansson wrote the lyrics. Initially released on the album Cutting Corners, it was later released as a single along with the B-side track “Watching Julietta.”
The song is still Secret Service’s best-known single. Upon its release, the single was certified gold in its home country, while it also reached the top 10 in four European countries (Portugal, where it reached number one, Finland, Italy, and Sweden). A music video was also filmed for the song, featuring the band moving through central Stockholm at night.
